Threatened & endangered species

Warburgia salutaris

Nobantu Charity Trust works within the field of biodiversity, conservation of rare, threatened, and endangered plant and tree species with a particular focus on species utilized by indigenous people for medicinal purposes.

This project has a direct benefit and influence on the conservation of wild species through ease of availability of the nursery grown species, thus reducing the need unsustainably harvest and illegally poach from the natural wild environments which removes the commercial value of the wild species due to supply and demand.

The first-generation trees are the initial intervention as it is proven that the next generation will seed, propagate and grown naturally and through continued self-propagation this could contribute to a future downgrading of their Red list status through re-population of species in the wild.
